Origin

ChronoVale can be dated all the way back to 2025 February 2, with this Discord message:

Prysmiq: Would you potentially be interested in a relatively big project of mine. Where we got a budget for a Minceraft Server? It would be mutli-language (For now English & German)
Prysmiq: We aso have an Investor by our side
Prysmiq: Who would fund that Project
Mester: sure, sounds fun
what type of server is it (minigame, pvp, whatever else there is)
Prysmiq: More of a MMORPGish server if you know what i mean. But since we are going to be about 4-7 Developers we might code 2 things at a time

The next day, the main server (that's still being used today) was purchased and development has officially started.

Pre-ChronoVale Era

During this time, the server wasn't called ChronoVale yet, and it was under the ownership of the original investor.

The first few days were spent with trying different map generation to find a potential map for the server using a plugin called Iris. Eventually, the first map layout was proposed on 2025 February 7:

Mester: so i did some thinking, i think this would be a cool layout for the map
green indicates capitals
light blue is early area (low level monsters, easy quests etc.)
orange is early-mid area (slightly more difficult monsters, stronger abilities)
red is mid-late area (strong monsters, difficult quests)
dark red is late area (very strong monsters and bosses, quests are very difficult to complete, this is also where the last bossfight is)

Actual development started with dialogues, the first gameplay system that's still part of the game today.

On 2025 February 13, monsters were implemented for the first time.

Acquisition and rebranding to ChronoVale

On 2025 February 14, a rebranding process has begun where the server was officially rebranded to ChronoVale and the hardware was purchased from the original investor. This is also the same time obsium was first created, originally meant to be the new server name, but later reused as a lore device (it's also used for some internal development).

A day later, the transition finished and with that came the first implementation of abilities.

This was also the time the map concept was redefined: the generated map was ditched, and the new plan became a human-made island-like map.

The first map following that idea was created on 2025 March 25. It wasn't island-like at the time and was scrapped later to be replaced by a new map that's used as the first island today.

The first plan for pets was created on 2025 April 2 and later implemented in July.

Mester was promoted from Developer to Founder on 2025 April 28. On the same day, housing and guilds were first laid out.

Pre-alpha stage

On 2025 June 29, Nearlycool joined as Community Manager. Development slowed down a bit with the only new major feature being collections. Emojis were also set up during this time.

The alpha map was created on 2025 September 6, the same map that's used as the first island. The next day, alpha stage was officially started.

The alpha final boss and auction house were both developed during this time, with the latter being finished on 2025 December 6.

The hosting structure was also modernised with interior servers being introduced and early lore was planned out during November.

On 2025 December 9, the server was published on Minecraft Server, a popular German Minecraft forum. However, whitelist was left turned off and this caused 10 people to join the server during active development.

The next day, work on dungeons began.
